We started a hybrid migration last year and had configuration issues with our on-prem exchange servers, so we decided to use a cut over migration. We have now completed the cut over migration.
I would like to know, can I setup directory sync after a cutover migration?
What will happen to existing objects in Exchange online if I do so?
Will they be overwritten?

The SMTP addresses of local AD objects are the same as the office 365 objects, but the UPN name is different.
Hoping someone could give me some advice, I'd hate to overwrite all my objects...
