I'm very new to Office 365 with hosted Exchange after many years of supporting on premise AD and Exchange, so I apologize for the very basic question in advance.
I've recently begun supporting a new environment with hosted Exchange, Lync and SharePoint with on premise AD with about 70 users and 70 Office 365 licenses. The two environments are in no way connected. I'd like to at least start by enabling directory sync so users only have one password. After reading all the TechNet articles, my first couple questions are:
1. Is there any impact to the existing Office 365 login/environment by enabling Windows Azure AD for all my existing services in preparation?
2. Is there any impact to existing on-premise login of domain.local\userid after adding the domain suffix? By that I mean can users still log in with domain\userid? Or will they need to log in with the userid@publicdomain.com?
I'm sure I have more questions but those are this ones I need answer to prepare for this change.
