Re: What is the maximum number of proxyaddresses for a Distribution Group object in order to sync?

Hi David,

Based on the error message "The provisioned object is too large. Trim the number of attribute values on this object. The operation will be retried in the next synchronization cycle.", the solution is that reduce the number of populated attributes for the given object and potentially the length of that object.

The possible root cause of this issue is the over-length of proxyaddresses attribute value.

For example, you typed all email addresses in the proxyaddresses attribute Value:

SMTP: user@domain.com
smtp: xxx@domain.com
smtp: xxx@domain.com
...

The length of proxyaddresses statement has exceeded the size limit in the Office 365 DirSync environment. You can sync proxy addresses with @domain.com more than that with @customdomain.com, because the @domain.com takes up less characters than @customdomain.com.

In addition, currently we do not have any officially published topics which talk about the limit of proxyaddresses arrtibue value length in Office 365 DirSync. I am sorry for the inconvenience you encountered and thank you for your understanding.

Best Regards,
Bourne Zhang
