RE: Office 365 and Server 2012R2 Essentials role, PasswordNeverExpires setting

So synced O365 users will get their PasswordNeverExpires setting from on-premise AD and other O365 users will get their PasswordNeverExpires setting from O365?

Can I verify this some other way than just wait if the passwords will require changing?
