Hello all,
I am planning a migration for the company I work for from a local Exchange installation to Office365. I want to migrate the local data to Office365, setup AD sync and SSO for transparent userlogon.
The local AD the company now has does not have a FQDN but a domain ending in .local. The email adresses managed in Exchange ofcourse are on a FQDN (don't know where/how the mapping is done, i do not manage the local infrastructure at this moment, I will after the migration).
The local AD domain has to be renamed/moved to a FQDN.
I was thinking to first migrate Exchange to Office365 managed accounts. After that I create a new domain in the local AD with the users on the new internal domain and after that setting up dirsync and ADFS. This new domain will not contain a local Exchange server. All users will be moved to Office365.
Is this the correct approach or am I missing something or doing it in a wrong order?
Any suggestions, advices, tips are welcome.
Thanx
