I would like to confirm some information:
1. Which Office 365 service are you using? Are you installing the latest Office 2013 on the computer? Does the Office only fail to work on the Windows 8 computer?
2. Have you installed other version Office like Office 2010 or individual older Office application on the Windows 8 computer?
3. Could you provide the whole error message with me for further research?
If you have ever installed the other version Office on the computer and uninstall them later, please try using the Fix it in the KB article to remove the Office. After doing that, please try repairing the Office 2013 under Control Panel.
