I am currently running a hybrid deployment with exchange 2010 on premise and the latest version of O365. However, all users will be cloud users and after the MX records are changed to point to O365, and we decommission our on premise exchange server we will no longer be running hybrid configuration.
Currently, users do not have the option to change their passwords in OWA as they have done in the past due to DirSync on premise and the hybrid configuration (I've been told the hybrid configuration prevents users from changing password in OWA).
So, my question is, what is the best practice for how users should change their passwords in this set up so that it can get back to active directory on premise and then synchronize to O365.
Currently, we have many remote users that access the network via a VPN. Should users do a CTRL+ALT+DEL from their machine while connected to the VPN to change the password? What about users who do not have a company provided machine and no VPN that normally changed their password in OWA?
Thanks!
