Hi Ghendrickson2013,

According to your confirmation, it seems that the service account MSOL_AD_Syncmay have been moved from the CN=Users container, to make sure the DirSync tool work properly, we need to move theMSOL_AD_Sync service account back to the CN=Users container.

To do this, please perform the following steps by using an account that has administrative credentials in the root domain of the forest.

1.Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

2.Right-click the domain name, and then click Find.
3.Click the In drop-down box, and then select Entire Directory.

4.Click in the Name field, and then type MSOL_AD_Sync.

5.Click Find Now.

6.Right-click the MSOL_AD_Sync service account, and then click Move.

7.In the Move box, browse to the Users container, and then click OK.

For your last question, please see the explanation for the parameter -ServiceCredential as below:
When using a remote install of SQL does it even use the MSOL account as it asks for an account that is used for both services?

========================================================

-ServiceCredential<PSCredential>

The credential to be assigned to the Forefront Identity Manager Synchronization service. When this parameter is not specified, an MIIS_Service account will be created on the local computer. The credential is also used by the Office 365 Directory Synchronization Service.

Thanks,
Jolin Qiao
