Hi,
So I've started a migration from our existing Exchange 2007 environment to Office 365. Doing a staged migration and moving small batch of users. DIRSYNC was configured by a contractor along with domain validation. He says password sync was enabled. What I don't understand is,
Once a user is migrated, what's the proper way to configure their Outlook clients? I've configured domain computers by adding a new account on the same profile using the xyz@domain.onmicrosoft.com address and the password I provided on the csv file. Why aren't their domain password not working to add the account? I had a user change his password on AD and he said he was able to login on the portal using his new password, but I can't have all users change their password just so we can configure their outlook.
Is this the best practice to add the cloud outlook profile for the users? They still have the old profile that's pointing to the local exchange server which is no longer updating.
Once we migrate all users, what do we do about the old profile? How about computers that are not on the domain? How do I configure Outlook on those? Macs?
Thanks for reading and would appreciate some help on these questions.
