RE: Powershell Sync

Hi CollegeMan,

We can do an initial sync between the local AD and Office 365, then stop it if you don’t want to sync the changes to Office 365 anymore.

However currently we only support sync the local AD users to Office 365 via the Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool officially. After the tool is installed, you can force a sync between the local AD and Office 365 in PowerShell using the steps below (The cmdlet is installed when you install the Directory Sync tool):

  1. On the computer that is running the Directory Sync tool, navigate to the directory synchronization installation folder. By default, it is located here:%programfiles%\Microsoft Online Directory Sync.
  2. Double-click DirSyncConfigShell.psc1 to open a Windows PowerShell window with the cmdlets loaded.
  3. In the Windows PowerShell window, type Start-OnlineCoexistenceSync, and then press ENTER.

After you confirm the all the users has been synced to Office 365, you can then uninstall the DirSync tool which will stop the sync between the local AD and Office 365.
