Hi Erkz,

Based on my experience, to deploy the Office applications by using the Office Deployment Tool, we use the Configuration.xml file to generate the required Office application  files from the Office 365 cloud.  And then run some command lines in cmd.exe to configure and install the Office applications.
After doing much research, I find the following two articles which may help to find a clue on this.
Remove Element in configuration.xml file
Using the Office Deployment Tool for Click-to-Run

However, after doing much research, I just realized that I’m not the master of this field of Office deployment and I’m lacking in the knowledge of Office deployment. I’m so sorry that I could not provide a professional instruction on this. Your understanding is pretty appreciated, Erkz. At the same time, I’m informed that this kind of issues are handled by our dedicated support team:
Forum Link: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/home?forum=officesetupdeploy
Office Deployment Support Team Blog:  http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/

The staff in the forum above is devoted into the issues of Office deployment, and you can get a better response there. That is the right place. I believe they will help you and get the issue fixed in a more timely way. Thanks for your understanding.

Finally, I would appreciate if you could share the solution once you get it, other users who are facing the same issues can benefit from your generous sharing when they come across this thread. They'll be grateful to you.

Best Regards,
Charles Li
